Looks like a(nother) juvenile blog from a whiner with no brain.
Once again, an idiot thinks they can speak for an entire gender with a statement "Apple insults ... women." I'd bet dollars to donuts that the writer is a male and has no real idea how "women" are actually affected by this decision. He is so bold as to entitle a paragraph "Apple insults women", yet by the end of the paragraph, he's already backpedaling with the phrase "I would find it very surprising if most women ...". In essence, this chauvinistic clown really has no idea how any woman feels about Apple's decision.

Also, why is the standard response to this issue always along the lines of "maybe our women should wear Burqas"? Umm... no. How about something in between?
Jeez, whiners, just get over it. Vote with your mobile app development skills. Go develop your takes-no-brains-to-make titillating apps on a competing platform and put Apple out of business.

inwhatworld, I know you cant spam App Store with your ***** apps, but please don't start spamming this forums with these kind of postings. We all get you, you are angry bcos you cant submit a b00b app anymore. But, get over it. Complaining here won't change Apple's decision. You are better off writing some plea article to Apple to create an Adult section and spread that article around...

The post has no substance, the only reason he's sayin what he's saying, is that there isn't that many "Man In Bikini" apps, and if they are, they are geared more towards the homosexual audience.
Added to the fact that their aren't as many female bloggers as male bloggers.

Please... "free speech" and "free expression".. A lot of people seem to throw "I have right" everywhere without even a light of understanding of what "right for free speech" really is.
Right for "free speech" means one and only one thing: you will not be prosecuted CRIMINALLY for saying and expressing things.
Free speech and free expression rights doesn't mean that every private business is required to channel your expression through their media. Free speech doesn't mean, that you can go to mall and talk anything you like - they'll kick you out. Free speech doesn't mean that you can go to private university or private school and talk anything - they'll kick you out. The only thing free speech guarantees is that you will not end up in jail.
And claim about "insult to women" is also ridiculous. If I was a woman I'd feel quite uncomfortable browsing the appstore. How would you guys feel if the appstore was full of half-naked men? Why should women feel any different?
The only valid point is that Apple kept Playboy or SI. I wish somebody with enough money challenged Apple on that.

It is reasonable for Apple to keep SI/Playboy. It is all about business.

However, there is one problem though, Apple might be subject to law suit.

I would say, "Yeah they better watch out" if they didn't have all their legal bases covered.
What a lot of developers don't understand is they can remove every app from the app store right now if they pleased. Did you not read the Terms of Agreement? :P
Also, all these developers getting mad at Apple look silly, because part of me thinks they didn't even read their Removed From Sale email. It was customer complaints that led you to get your app removed, blame them if anyone.

Read the e-mail again; Apple is very careful not to say that there were any customer complaints against your app specifically.

Yea, of course they weren't against the app specifically, but there were general customer complaints against the criteria these apps fell under.
My point was that it was Apple responding to customers, not Apple impulsively restructuring the App Store......

Yeah, right, and the "customers" suddenly started complaining: "We don't want to see any booob apps except those coming from Playboy and SI."

It's not that they "suddenly" started complaining, it's been an ongoing complaint about the app store from customers, I'm sure. It's just Apple decided to fold under their pressure now.
Fact is, Apple was making more money with all those b00b apps on the store, of course they wanted to push the limits and see what they could get away with, which we should thank them for.
The App Store is still very young, and has a long future ahead of it. If customers are now starting to perceive it as a "sex app store" then that not only hurts Apple, it hurts us developers too, because in the long run we will still have a huge customer base browsing our apps.
I don't mind that Playboy and SI are still up there, they are big players and they deserve it. Apple changed their guidelines mainly to get rid of their image as a "sex app store" because honestly, every category you went into there were bewbs this and thongs that. It needed to change before it hurt the platform all together.
Stop bashing Apple, they made a good move by doing this.

Is it possible that Apple writes to Playboy to remove their app, and then Playboy Corp sends a lawyer instead to make the app remain in AppStore? Playboy is rich corp, and they can definitely hire the most xpnsive lawyers. I think Apple still on removing sleazy apps, but PERHAPS playboy is fighting back, hence the delay in removal?
Just speculating though.

Probably not:
"When asked about the Sports Illustrated app, Mr. Schiller said Apple took the source and intent of an app into consideration. “The difference is this is a well-known company with previously published material available broadly in a well-accepted format,” he said."

That's pretty much double standards. So a well known company can sell *****, but a john doe dev, can't?

I don't really know how you expect them to remove absolutely every sexual app in the store within a week. You do realize the volume of the App Store, right?
Dice is a severely low traffic category, the guys in charge of removing sex apps probably glazed over it.
Also, when I clean my room up I never finish with it completely spotless, but in the end it feels clean and thats what matters most.

Yeah, the problem is that nobody can see every app in the app store, just the ones that are in a list. And as some apps are being removed, others are just taking their place in the list.
Either they have to get better at removing apps (and I'm willing to give it some time), or they need to police the lists directly.
I thought it was pretty interesting.
