I understand AppMakr is running a business and letting more people have apps in the app store, but the y should limit what actually goes in there. If a local organization wants to pay you $500 to make app for them, that's might fine, but it should not be going in the app store if it's a piece of crap. You are telling me to download one and see what it's like before I say something, but the screenshots for every app are limited to one and don't show the app at all (Is there nothing to show?) and 97% of the reviews are 1 star. So I will not waste my time. And whatever reviews there are say the apps do not launch or do anything- so why bother?
People are paying you to get their brands or organizations noticed, but all you guys at AppMakr are doing is making it more difficult for legit developers to get the recognition we may deserve. So stop posting these apps unless they serve a purpose. Give me a purpose for your apps ad I will happily change my view.
Now for these Gupta people-
After looking at the apps by each of the three Gupta's- yes I typed each of their names in iTunes- I see that most of the apps are just collections of wallpapers. And each app probably has like 20 wallpapers. Thats the part that bothers me. If you are going to make a wallpapers app, make one app with a lot of wallpapers rather than 100 different apps.
So where are you GUPTA's ?????

And then they have two accounts releasing 5 star reviews for all their apps: MonoUSA Computer_Guy
I thought Apple blocks apps which are too similar to other apps you have already released. But these apps are exactly the same!
Have you even looked at those apps before you start posting accusations like that?
Are you an offender when you have 300 apps in the app store?
And having a couple of friends that buy all your app and leave a 5 stars review is considered faking reviews? A lot of us might be in trouble...

Some people are just sourgrapes. Just because they can't make 300 apps, they feel the need to bring others with 300 apps down. Gee.

ranjit, seems like you only ever comment on these type of threads and defend the "crap-apps" makers.
Have your heard of Shakespeare? Have you heard the quote : "The lady doth protest too much, methinks" - enough said.
M.
PS And to answer your comment directly, not sour grapes as anyone can 300+ crap apps. It's just some of us take pride in our work and write quality apps (which take more time and effort). The sooner the Windows Phone is available, the better as these companies can target a whole new platform and leave the iPhone to quality apps.

Businesswise Microsoft is (and always was) smarter than Apple. Microsoft store doesn't allow publishing more than 5 (or maybe 6 - i might have forgot) for $99/year. If you want to publish more - you pay $99 more and so on. Nokia stores are like that too. This effectively stops spamming making it unfeasible.
Only Android and iPhone stores are heaven for spammers and junk developers. Since Android doesn't bring any sensible income - they will all be in Apple appstore until Apple limits numbers of apps. Maybe they will start scratching their heads when the appstore reaches 1 million apps? 2 million? There got to be some critical mass appstore will reach.

Apple does not care because there a hardware company. the More apps they have the more they can say in there commercials, IPhone now has 500,000 apps,etc.. = more appeal means more hardware sales.

That's true too.

I don't think apple doesn't care, but they are torn. The very core of their company is in making the highest possible quality products. As much as Apple wants people to disassociate the apps from the iphone, there are a lot of people that will blame apple for poor quality apps. That's why there is an app approval process in the first place.

I disagree.
I think they would have pushed that up to something like 100k or 200k apps, now that they've got there, if anything, they want to slow it down.
It's bad business saying: we've got half million ton of crapp.
I think it will make more sense now that they've reached the critical mass to going back to focus on the quality, as they've already stated in the latest guidelines.
I don't understand, why apple reviewers don't check the dev's account, when they review a new app.
It seems they get a list by apps to be reviewed and they review it like monkeys and decide to allow or reject based on the moment.
No matter if negative or positive, I think, they always should make a background check on the dev.
If they reviewed a wallpaper app with 5 wallpapers in it and they checked the account and see there is 20 more wallpaper apps, it is a no brainer.
And btw: where is that guideline "to few content"?
My app was rejected without reason, although we make quality apps and we had also worked for that app for months and it costed us a few thousand dollars and then this guys come through with their crap is very annoying.
I would love to have a 10 minute interview with an Apple reviewer.
You mean in the boxing ring?
