Do you think this Forum has the power to get an App into the US Top 100 of any category?
Obviously the ideal way to use Promo Codes is to get balanced reviews and publicity via review websites but not in all situations.
I have created a Christmas App, while balanced reviews and long lasting publicity would be nice, it would make more sense to use the codes to propel the app into the top 100 and see if it sticks over the festive period.
Was wondering if you guys could Redeem the Promo Codes i posted in the Promo Codes Thread?

actually it would make the most sense to get your app to the top 100 first then do a 50 promo code giveaway to boost it to the top
if its around 50 you could probably boost it to top 20 if you get rid of the promos fast enough (depending on category)
See what happens? You guys shouldn't spread the word about promo code bumps.
Then other developers start using all their 50 in the same fashion we do: to get massive exposure on every update...

You could say this about everything -- See what happens when you help someone figure out how to make a shadowed table view? All their apps will now look like yours.
With this logic I think nobody should help anyone else on here with anything...
Getting into the top 100 requires over 700 downloads a day, so no way that you could get that off promo codes. You could buy your way in there through ad networks, but my guess is that it would cost anywhere from 5-10k a day to break the top 100.

I got to 77 in education using 40 promo codes + 17 sales over 2 days.
The point I am trying to make is if u could use a forum like this to redeem 50 codes within say 6 hours, that should be enough to make a 'blast' into the top 100 of most categories. Your app would then have the chance to stick, or will slide out again.
The other way is to get honest reviews and ratings to 'climb' into the top 100 and hopefully stay there.
The first way would be good for themed apps like Halloween or Christmas.
The second way would be good for a games that took 3 months to develop.
