Hey all,the thing is, my app has no music in it, and really should as it's a game. The problem is, i have no clue where to get it. Where on earth can you buy or make some cool sounding looping backround music for your app?
Yeah, music makes big difference. I bought music from cssmusic.com and sounds from soundscalpel.com. I went through their licenses, everything seems OK to use it for games. But there are plenty of web-sites selling music and sounds. Just read the licenses, some of them offer non-commercial use only.
Digging through all the music they have is painful and time consuming process, much harder than going through image clipart because you have to listen them one-by-one.
There are more expensive places with better music specifically themed for games. Some places also offer exclusive license (I didn't keep the urls, they were expensive).

im looking for some music along the lines of what jellycar 2 did.
The hard part is actually not learning Garageband (since it's a pretty simple program to use) - The hard part is to create anything that's good and usefull... Perhaps finding a friend who is allready into music would be a good idea if you want something that might work in a game.
It's not an easy task creating something that is nice listening to, goes well with the game itself and doesn't get boring and annoying after a while of playing the game...
Sounds in general make up around 70% of the user experience - so it's nothing to take too lightly and dismiss as a minor thing that might just be neccessary to add in order to make things seem a little bit more proffessional or whatever...
It's a quite an important part of the overall impression of your app, especially if it's a game...

yeah, it probably wont be too hard finding sounds for the game itself, but more of the backround music. Garageband is pretty simple and i just made some pretty cool music as a test of its abilities. Unfortunately, this music doesnt go with my game . Its hard finding loops that are what im trying to find ( backround music like jelly car 2 ).
I am a high school band director and arranger. I am interested in writing music for some iPhone games for experience (build up my composer resume). If you are working on something, I would love to just be a part of a project.
Contact me if you are interested. I would gladly try to whip something up. If you like it, cool. If not, ditch it.
