Admob - How does it work? What apps should use Ads?

I'm exploring the possibility of using Admob for my apps.

However, how does it work? The website is completely useless in telling me how it works.

My app doesn't require the user to go online so if the user doesn't have a 3GS connection then does Admob still pay me?

Is there like a cache of adverts admob store on your phone/ipod touch and it stores all the times the user has opened the app until it finally decides to connect to the internet?

Second question is. What kinda of apps are best suited for advertisements?

It pulls the ads from the internet so the user will need an active internet connection for you to have any chance of getting paid, it can be 3g or wifi. You get paid per click so the user also has to have enough interest in the ad to actually click on it.

It works best in apps that can get a ton of downloads, so generally free ones, and they have to be good enough to keep people coming back to them, because if no one is actually using the app then your not get anyone clicking on the ads.
