Default iTunes Connect Tax Info

When filling out my tax info for iTunes connect, as a non US resident, I checked the box that said this:

"I declare that the individual or organization named in the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement is the beneficial owner of any payments made under such agreement. I declare that the beneficial owner does not have any employees in the United States and does not own, lease or control any equipment or other assets in the United States that are used to derive revenue from the iPhone Developer Program. I declare that I am either the beneficial owner or that I am authorized to make this declaration on behalf of the beneficial owner."

Was i supposed to check that box or does this mean I can't earn money off my apps in the US?

What other tax forms do we (Europeans) have to fill out and send in ? Wasn't there a tax form for download on itunes connect before ? Or do we download them directly from IRS ?
I'm totally lost when it comes to tax & stuff

I read something that due to a change in Apple procedures the tax forms for european users are not needed anymore, that the "Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner" is enough. Is this correct ?

Hi Kae,

Im from Argentina. When you said:

"I read something that due to a change in Apple procedures the tax forms for european users are not needed anymore"

Where did you read that? because im in the same situation. About complete the tax form for selling app in the US, they have requested me not to do. So, I don't know if i have to send the tax form and where i have to do it.

I contacted iTStax (Apple) and asked if I needed to complete the W-8BEN form and send it in, this is the answer I got:

Quote:
There is a new US tax declaration that you completed in iTunes Connect. This will supersede any previously submitted tax form, and does not require you to print and sign a W-8BEN form to submit to Apple.

Please note: Since the App Store contracts are characterized as a "sales/commission" agreement, as opposed to a "royalty" agreement, there is no tax withholding for sales in the USA App Store. Therefore, we would still like you to complete the US tax declaration form in iTunes Connect, however, you are not required to obtain a new US Taxpayer Identification Number if you do not already have one.
So I guess that means that the "Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner" should be sufficient. Because I can't see any other tax declaration in iTunesConnect.
