Question Holiday Sales Trends

Can anyone share their experience with sales trends over the holidays? I don't necessarily need unit or dollar sales figures, but just up/down trends.

I'm debating whether to try to get my next app out before the Christmas holiday, or wait until after the new year. On one hand, I can see sales could go up as people are off work and might spend their time and money/gift cards browsing and buying apps. On the other hand, I could see that people are busy traveling and with their families. The result is sales being absolutely dismal.

Would greatly appreciate any real world insight folks can share from last holiday season. Thanks.

Last holiday season my sales shot up about 400% for the 2nd half of December and 1st half of January.

Sweet Jesus if it's half of that this year I'm going to have to monitor the servers as they'll melt on Christmas day

Fingers crossed

Thanks for sharing that insight. I did find someone that published 6 Months of iPhone App Sales Stats online and it supports what you're saying.

Sounds like I'd better push to get this out, and hope for a quick and smooth approval.
