I just got the new version of my app approved (after a 23 day delay!), and I went into iTunesConnect to update the app information with new features. When I try to change the Application Description, I get this error at the top of my screen:
Quote:
You must choose a device type for users running iPhone OS 2.2.1 and below.
Now, my app is compiled for SDK 2.1, so that part I understand. But when I scroll down the page, I find that the Device field is already set to iPhone and iPod touch. Only it's plain text and not in a pull down. So I can't figure out how I'm supposed to refresh or change the value that the error is complaining about.
Has anyone seen this problem or have an idea on how to fix it?

I just got this exact same problem, but only on one of the apps I got updated today. Also check your categories, as mine are screwed up, and I have no way to correct them. Worse, I emailed via the contact forms, and immediately got a returned mail because the "relay access" was denied. Something is screwy at Apple today....
Same problem as well. It's problematic because I want to let users know that the update won't be out for a while... thank to the "extra time" email. Look what happens when Steve Jobs goes back to apple!
Damn... same thing happening here. Was waiting for the "Ready for Sale" to update the description with the latest changes, now itunesconnect is not letting me.
Hopefully they fix this soon... would hate to not be able to update until after my App is moved off the "new release" page.
Yup the same thing happened here. I needed to write an update alerting my users that they need to visit the application settings before using, but I guess that's not happening. Stinkin' Steve Jobs
Just got approved today (FINALLY) and realized that the PNG-8 images I had uploaded as screenshots looked crappy. Tried to change app description (which partially succeeded), but when I tried to upload new screen caps in PNG-24, I got the same error...something must be going on with AppStore today.
Last night I finally got it to work. I was seeing the error consistently when connecting to iTunes Connect via Firefox on my Linux box. It finally occurred to me to try on my MacBook and when I tried via Safari, I got no errors.
I'm not sure if it's a Firefox/Safari thing, or if it was just a temporary glitch that was worked out by the time I tried my MacBook. I hope this helps somebody.

Nope that wasn't it. I used several different browsers and computers but it still different work. Good guess though. I think it's a problem with iTunes connect, hopefully just today.
Still seeing this on my apps which are 3.0+ only apps. Any word on a fix yet as I can't update anything while they are in review I guess until this 2.2 drop down allows a 3.0 requirement or goes away.
I was able to update my apps last night with Internet Explorer - I think it must have just been a temporary bug in itunesconnect that appears to be resolved now.
