Thanks; so I guess this was a newly available thing? Obviously I'm going to be holding off on this...

Yes it's new. I only did it because I noticed my contract expiration is now April 30th instead of July 11th like I was told it would be extended to (I was in the beta). I thought the amendment would extend the contract to the correct date. Instead, it 'removed' my apps from the store.

and Thirdly (this is the big one) pick up your phone, browse to Entertainment for example, and sort by release date. The sorting order is all messed up. Starting with January...then June..then all over the place?

Can anyone confirm this? Should we flood them with calls?
I met this kind problem since month ago. Sent email and call them again and again, but can't get any improvement so far.
I am became iphone developer since August 2008.

Two of our new apps that were approved today ("Out There #1" and "Out There #2") are actually showing up in a search now, so I just changed the release date to March 19, 2009 on our six still-invisible apps on a hunch that might somehow fix things.

And it DID! I can once again see all our applications by searching "keenspot" in the App Store and iTunes.

If this strategy works for you, please show your appreciation by searching "keenspot" and downloading some of our apps. :> (The "Marry Me" series is a favorite of many.)

The problem is that if you look on your iPod touch or iPhone at your category and sort it by "Release Date", you will not see your app. You will see apps listed in a completely random order, except that it stays the same order forever. Did this problem go away for you too or was it just the search thing?

No, my problem was that all my apps became invisible after I agreed to the new contract amendment. The release date problem is a separate and less urgent issue. It's a very important one that I hope Apple fixes soon, though.

Can't argue against that.

Somehow I missed reading about the contract problem. All I have to say is eek

Default Can anyone of you log in to apple's devforums?

Their forum had been down for more than 24 hous for "maintanance", how unprofessional is that?! And now that it's back online I can't log into it anymore. Can anyone of you log into the devforums?!?

This whole situation is extremely enraging.... It almost seemed that my app would gain some traction after one month of languishing in the app store, when this bug showed up LAST WEEK! The app store has been broken now for SEVEN DAYS and Apple was still not able to fix it???!!!

The store in iTunes is also buggy as hell. There my app showes up only sporadically in the most recent list and that only 24 hours after the update. Which of course means that now I have practically zero sales... My app is already not super-easy to market, being quite arty and off the mainstream taste, so a working store is crucial to me...

<venting frustration>
I guess I should just quit developing for the iPhone, sell all my Apple stuff after ten years of loyality and move somewhere else...
</venting frustration>

Any body able to get through to the ADC phone line or are they still cowardly putting everyone on hold infinitely until you hang up.

BTW I think a fix might be under way...I saw the entertainment release listings seem okay for one second but the next time I looked at it it blinked back out of existence again and return to it it's "crazy eye" state.

When I saw it touchscan was the top.

That is good news, I can see this getting sorted out now over the next couple of days, cross fingers.

Stuff is starting to work for me now as well.... at first it was just Entertainment... now Games/Action seems to show some new stuff for me. Education is still the old one though...

I hope it stays that way and updates daily now.... I am going to give it another day or two before I start submitting apps again.

I want to make sure this thing is fixed for good!

I see the same.

Any news from the people who had their apps removed after accepting the amendment?

Mine were removed yesterday. I then set the date on one of my apps to one day ahead (Mar 19th, when it was the 18th) and this morning they were all back on the store.

Some local caching-issues could be expected... Perhaps that's what you're seeing?
