Well, I wrote AppViz, and I can attest that I'm not doing anything nefarious
One way to check would be to use something like wireshark to sniff the packets being sent.
The free app is pretty well done. If you're just looking for details on sales for the last few days or weeks, it solves that problem very well.
If you're looking for monthly report analysis, a desktop app, or longer term trending, of course I recommend AppViz. I may, just may, be a little biased there.
I'd love to hear any suggestions you guys might have to make AppViz better. It is still early days, but I hope to provide a fairly sophisticated analysis tool if the market has room for one.
