Ok - posting the answer to my own question just in case somebody else would like to know.
If you're using a webview inside your app, the link to one of your other apps that links to the app store should start with "itms"
The user will then be bounced into the iTunes store, then into the app store.
If it's in safari or another web browser, "http" works fine.
