Depends on the person really, If math like calculus comes easy to you then you will likely pick up coding really fast. I was always really good at math but absolutely hated it. Then I started coding and found my calling in life.

Once again, depending on the person i think 30 days of learning is EASILY attainable for the type of app he wants to build. my first two coding languages were
vb and objective c. I started learning them concurently and was building a more complex app than he described in less than a month
