Yeah, music makes big difference. I bought music from cssmusic.com and sounds from soundscalpel.com. I went through their licenses, everything seems OK to use it for games. But there are plenty of web-sites selling music and sounds. Just read the licenses, some of them offer non-commercial use only.
Digging through all the music they have is painful and time consuming process, much harder than going through image clipart because you have to listen them one-by-one.
There are more expensive places with better music specifically themed for games. Some places also offer exclusive license (I didn't keep the urls, they were expensive).
