There are a lot of 15 year olds who never develop socially/economically productive interests [here in the US]. Many of these kids then engage in antisocial behavior becoming involved in gangs, drugs, or becoming just vanilla perpetual low achievers.
Society would be better off with one guy like Affan than a dozen who won't even start trying. Stating the obvious, success for many occurs after a sequence of failures.
There's a subtle difference between honesty and truth in the manner one offers advice. One can be honest in their advice without being discouraging, while a preoccupation with only truth can make one's advice unnecessarily discouraging.
BTW, I am no bleeding heart liberal, and I believe very strongly in capitalism. Everybody wins when we encourage all to become active capitalists.
