Rumors are bad...but since Apple is so secretive...rumors are the only information we have. What a bummer mates. A few months back, they were rejecting everything left right and center for Key words...now it seems they want to thin the iphone developer group even more by denying a new binary the opportunity of being in the top of the "New Releases" chart.
Most of us rely on this feature, to market our apps and boost sales. With this feature gone...is it worth it guys? seriously. My example...I have spent over $4000 developing this game and have made maybe $150. So as you can tell, it doesn't leave a favorable flavor in my mouth. I have 2 others in production now, hiring graphics and developers...employing people.
I'm going to give it a few more days, if the system does not put my app (and yours) in the "New Releases"...then I think I am pretty much done with Apple!
They don't even realize that they are firing 2 developers, 2 graphic artists and 1 very pissed off entrepreneur.
I really really really really really (etc)...hope that I/we are wrong and it will all be fixed very soon.
